Senhora do Monte, Santa Luzia and São Pedro de Alcântara: the classic views over rooftops and the river. They're public and busy, so we plan for the quiet hours and keep any setup small.
The riverfront
The marble steps of Cais das Colunas, the promenade at Ribeira das Naus and the gardens of Belém: wide skies, the Tagus and the sun going down over the water.
Rooftops and restaurants
A private table above the city, decorated with flowers and candles. Ideal in winter, or for a proposal over dinner.

What is the most romantic place to propose in Lisbon?
For the classic Lisbon view, Miradouro da Senhora do Monte at sunset. For privacy, a rooftop terrace or a garden. For a big setup like the rose heart, a beach near Cascais or on the Costa da Caparica. Our guide to the best places to propose goes through them one by one.
